Clubs & Organizations

American Institute of Architects - Wisconsin Club (AIA-Wisconsin)  -  Deborah Kutrieb / Kelly Roshell, Advisor Email
The AIA Student chapter is affiliated with AIA-Wisconsin which includes most of the Architectural firms in the state. Membership includes a professional magazine subscription, field trips and meetings at both the local and state levels.  

Typical events and projects held annually include community service projects, attending the State convention, visiting construction sites, and fundraisers..
 
Last years events included touring Anderson Windows, County Materials, Cedar Corporation and Mabel Tainter Theatres. The group also attended AIA Wisconsin Convention, which included side trips to Planning Design Build, Madison construction site, Heartland EPS, and the Wisconsin State Capital.
 
While at the convention students attended presentations, seminars, and a product expo.

Business Professionals of America (BPA)  - Scott Elza / Deb Miller
Business Professionals of America is a national student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, and is for any student currently enrolled in a business, office, or business education course or program in a secondary or post-secondary institution. The purpose of BPA is to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic and technological skills.

Skills USA (VICA)  -  Todd Larson
The purpose of this club is to prepare students who are high performance workers currently enrolled in technical education for tomorrow's workplace. They participate in teamwork, leadership, and character development activities. VICA emphasizes total quality of work, superior work skills, lifelong education, pride and dignity of work.

Six students in the Barber/Cosmetology program from WITC-Rice Lake will be competing at the state level this year. Areas of competition include hair, interviewing and demonstrations (make-up applications). 

Students enrolled in the Bricklaying/Masonry, Welding, and Automotive programs also participate in Skills USA.

Telecommunications Technologies Organization (TTO)   -    Paul Kostner
The purpose of the Telecommunications Technologies Organization is to administer and coordinate all activities among the students in the Telecommunications Technology and Telecommunications Technician programs. TTO participated in the WSTCA Conference, MTA Conference, and SCTE Conference. At the WITC-Rice Lake Campus, students in TTO assisted with donations to Operation Santa Claus, the Alumni School Supply drive, and assisted the residents of Ladysmith Wis., following the tornado disaster there.

Mechanical Design Club - Glenn Sokolowski
The Mechanical Design Club is for students in the Mechanical Design Technician program. Club activities include visits to major cities for design trade shows and tours of state-of-the-art manufacturing industries. In addition, the club sponsors a "get acquainted" bratwurst fry at the beginning of the school year, and a holiday meal at a local eatery in December. The trips and events help students from both years of the program network with each other and contacts in industry.

National Association of Home Builders (NAHB)  -  Dave Shipley
The purpose of this club is to acquaint students with the parent club and what the parent clubs do. NAHB also raises money for field trips or events. This year the club is planning a field trip to the Glensheen Manor in Duluth, Minn., and also to the University of Minnesota Testing Facility.

Student Senate   -  Aleesha Drost
This is the voice of the student body! As a member of Student Senate, you will be involved in planning and organizing campus-related activities as well as serve as a decision-maker regarding various issues on campus. The Student Senate works with fellow students, faculty, staff and administration to help create a student-centered environment. This is an excellent opportunity for you to become involved and meet new people.

Wisconsin Marketing & Management Association (WMMA)  -  Renelle Gill
This organization, also known as Delta Epsilon Chi, is a co-curricular, student-centered organization specifically designed to provide activities that will motivate secondary/postsecondary students to learn marketing, management, merchandising, and entrepreneurial competencies that will prepare them to become trained, employable workers in related fields. WMMA enhances the student's college experience by providing recognition and leadership activities directly related to classroom study. WMMA members are at various stages in their educational lives, enabling our members to fit into a variety of employment stages

Intramural Sports
Men's and women's intramural sports including:  softball, flag football, volleyball and basketball.
